On Saturday September, 3, 2016, Butler High School's class of 1966, came together and celebrated their 50th class reunion, in the Crystal Room at the Butler Days Inn.
The Crystal Room was decorated in white, gold and a touch of blue, which are Butler High School's colors. The tables were covered in gold satin overlays, and the chairs had gold satin sashes tied around them.
The event started at 5:00 pm and as everyone began to come into the Crystal room, the class members started to mingle, have a drink from the bar and catch up with one another. At 5:30, the Crystal room staff began to go around the room and offer appetizers. The appetizers were, crab stuffed mushroom caps, bruschetta, and cocktail meatballs with marinara sauce.
Dinner began at 6:30. To start off, there was a mixed green garden salad. After everyone finished their salad, guests were called up to the buffet. For the main course, guests could have roast beef with burgundy sauce and stuffed chicken breast with gravy. And for side dishes the choices were, rice pilaf, whipped potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli and carrot medley, and green bean almandine . Dinner rolls & butter. Coffee, hot & iced tea were served with the meal.
After dinner, guests were treated to dessert, which was sheet cakes donated by one of the classmates, to celebrate their class reunion. The Crystal room staff cut and served the cake to all of the guests.
Throughout the night, there was music for everyone to enjoy, as well as speeches given and as a special treat, one of the class members even sang.
Around 11:00 pm, the night began to wind down, and the Butler High School class of 1966 could add this to their memories, as another fun filled evening they were able to spend with one another once again.
