Whitney Cartwright and Brett Bernola

Excitement  and love filled the air the morning of Saturday, October 1st, 2016. It was the day that Whitney Cartwright and Brett Bernola, were going to stand up in front of their friends and family, to exchange their vows and become husband and wife. 

The ceremony was held in the Terrace Room, and the reception was held in the Crystal Room. The doors to the Terrace Room opened at 4:00 for guests to be seated. At 4:30, the ceremony began. The Flower girls, followed by the bridesmaids, walked down the aisle to the song "Marry Me", by Train. Finally the time came for the Bride to walk down. Whitney came down the aisle,  looking very beautiful in her stunning dress escorted by her father Scott, Brett anxiously awaiting,  to the song "All Of Me", by John Legend. It was a very emotional moment for all as Whitney's aunt Nancy officiated the ceremony and announced Whitney & Brett as husband & wife.

At 5:00 the ceremony ended. Whitney and Brett, along with the rest of the bridal party exited the Terrace Room. They formed a line in the hallway, so they could greet all of the guests. Everyone was then escorted by the two ushers, Michael and Griffin, down to the Crystal Room. DJ Jason Lako from Pittsburgh All Star, played music, while guests ejoyed cocktail hour.  The Crystal Room staff brought around appetizers of cocktail meatballs with marinara sauce,  bruschetta and shrimp cocktail. The couple also chose to have a display of assorted cheese balls withcrackers, fresh fruit andvegetables and a spinach artichoke dip for guests to enjoy.

At 6:00, cocktail hour came to an end, and it was time for the reception to start. At 6:15, DJ Jason Lako, asked everyone to gather on the dance floor. As the song, "Shut Up And Dance", by Walk The Moon, started to play, the bridal party was annonced into the Crystal Room. First the Flower girls, Afton and Amzey Budis, and Colleen and Fallyn Burgett, were escorted in by the Mother of the Groom, Dori Dragoslovich. Next, the Officiant, Nancy Bales, who was escorted in by ushers, Michael and Griffin Angell. Following Whitney's aunt, came the grandmother of the bride, Jean Angell, escorted by the father of the bride, Scott Cartwight. Being announced into the Crystal Room next, was the bridal party. Brandi Budris, who was escorted by Anthony Budris. Britney Bernola, escorted by Rob Nedley. Cate John, escorted by Joey Bastianelli. Michelle Conti, who was escorted in by Dave Manfredi. Allie Emanuele, escorted by James Hoegerl, and Julie Leeper, who was escorted by Ryan Catalogna. Next, came the Maid of Honor, Rachel Angell, escorted by the Best Man, Brandon Bernola. Finally, it was time to announce the Bride and Groom! The DJ stopped the song, and put on "Pursuit of Happiness", by Kid Cudi, and the new Mr. and Mrs. Brett Bernola, made their entrance into the Crystal Room! 

The Crystal Room was illuminated by purple lighting. The tables had plum satin overlays on them. And the chairs had a white cover, with a plum satin sash. Tables were decorated with an off white under water orchids trio centerpiece, provided by the Bloomery.

At 6:15, Whitney and Brett had their first dance. Following the first dance as husband & wife, DJ Jason announced the Father of the Bride, Scott, for the welcome speech. At 6:25, the Maid of Honor, Rachel, gave her speech, and Brandon, the Best Man, also gave his speech. After the speeches, the Crystal Room staff served a fresh  green salad to each guest. Whitney and Brett chose to have a sit down dinner with guest choice of a  duo plate of  filet mignon  and chicken marsala or shrimp stuffed with crab with sides of garlic smashed redskin potatoes and green bean almandine.

After dinner, it was time for Whitney and Brett to cut their cake! The cake was a vanilla and almond cake, with almond butter cream filling and buttercream icing. It was beautifully decorated with purple ribbon on each tier. The cake also had plum and lavender roses on the front. For dessert, everyone was served a piece of the cake. Following dessert, at 7:15, was the father/daughter dance. Whitney and her dad Scott danced to "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw. After that, it was time for the Mother/Son dance. Brett and his mom Dori started the dance off and then halfway through, Susan cut in. They danced to "93 Million Miles" by Jason Mraz. At 7:25, DJ Jason announced that everyone could join them back on the dance floor. As the night went on, guests could enjoy using the photo booth that was set up. Also, a videographer from Shofilms helped to capture the special night, along with the photographer Caryn Carson, who also took pictures earlier on. In the background, there was a video playing on a big screen, that everyone could watch. It was certainly a night filled with love, joy and fun for everyone, especially the Bride and Groom!
